Jayco 50th Anniversary Documentary
Documentary Production • Branded Content • Historical Storytelling
To mark Jayco Australia’s 50th anniversary, Cameron Damon Media was engaged to develop a major documentary project celebrating the people, places, products and stories behind one of Australia’s most recognised caravan and recreational vehicle brands.
The objective was much bigger than simply producing an anniversary film. We set out to create a lasting record of Jayco’s history capturing the stories of the people who helped build the business and documenting the evolution of the company from its early beginnings through to the manufacturing operation it is today.
At the heart of the project were interviews with past and present Jayco stakeholders, including dealer principals, long-serving employees and other key people connected to the company’s history. These personal stories were combined with archival footage, historic photographs, brochures and other material collected from across Jayco’s 50-year journey.

The result was an approximately one-hour documentary, supported by a suite of shorter-form content that extended the story across digital and social platforms throughout Jayco’s anniversary year. A specially produced shortened version of the documentary was also screened to a huge audience at Jayco’s 50th Anniversary Celebration at Crown Casino, where it was met with resounding applause, a fitting response to a story celebrating five decades of Jayco and the people who helped make the brand what it is today.

More than a celebration of a milestone, the documentary was conceived as a time capsule — preserving first-hand stories that may otherwise disappear over time. The original project brief described the Jayco story not only as an important chapter in the company’s history, but as a significant Australian RV industry success story that deserved to be documented for future generations.
